De Quervain’s Syndrome – Special Test
How can you tell if you might have De Quervain’s Syndrome?
A quick way to test yourself if you’re concerned about having this condition can be done using the Finkelstein Test.
To do this test on yourself:
- Hold your affected limb in a neutral position (thumb facing up)
- Simply tuck your thumb into your hand while making a fist & place your wrist into ulnar deviation (pinky towards the floor).
If you experience pain in the area around the base of the thumb, you may have this condition.
