Golf Swing – 3 Must-Do Pre-round Shoulder Stretches
What are 3 dynamic stretches I should do before golfing?
Here’s our 3 favorite shoulder stretches to do prior to your golf round or hitting the range. They will help with overall shoulder mobility that can help prevent injury while hitting balls.
1) Holding the club out in front of you and over your head stretches your back muscles that are important during your backswing. Stretching the back allows you to feel more comfortable when you transition from your backswing to your downswing.
2) Holding the golf club in front of you with elbows at 90 degrees of flexion and an end of the club in each hand. Push one side of the club to stretch shoulder internal rotators. It’s crucial to keep your elbows tucked into your side. Repeat on the opposite side.
3) Hold the golf club behind your head and back with the right hand at the top and left hand at the bottom. Pull up with the top hand to stretch shoulder external rotators. Repeat on the opposite side.
Try working these stretches into your pre-round routine!
